Session 6- Redefining Defence Doctrine: Border Security to Human Security

Post Covid-19 pandemic, the global perspective on security has widened. It now includes not just the mainstream debates on military and terrorism threats but also threats like Covid-19 pandemic which is posing serious concerns to humankind and its survival. Our enemy is not guns and bombs but invisible yet lethal threats like the Corona virus which can vanish the whole mankind from the face of earth if unprepared.

It is high time to rethink and rework our policy responses and to redirect it towards spending on Human security-essentially in healthcare and in reduction of emissions leading to climate change.
